Body BEAST is an awesome program to build muscle and get huge. With the dynamic set training that Body BEAST emphasizes throughout its workout program, you don’t need a squat rack or an Olympic weight set. Beachbody’s Body BEAST workout program can be done at home or at the gym. With that said, you’re probably wondering what Body BEAST equipment do you need to get huge – you will need to invest in some type of workout equipment.
My Body BEAST review goes into a little detail about the equipment you need but not in great detail. The review is an overview of the workout program and my results. Here I’ll explain all the equipment you need.
Here are the pieces of equipment Body BEAST recommends throughout the BEAST workout program.
Dumbbells are the basis of all resistance training. If you plan on getting big, you’ll need to some resistance. As you go through the Body BEAST program you’ll most likely use everything from a 10lb to a 70lb (or more) dumbbell. The dynamic set training will minimize the amount of weight you’ll need due to the intensity of the workouts. I recommend that you do get a variety of small weights to start so you can get a sense of how heavy you can lift during the BEAST program.
If you can’t afford or use dumbbells then the Body BEAST program recommendsresistance bands since they can provide up to 100 poulds of resistance. Bands aren’t as effective to gain mass but they are a good way to get started. I would rather use dumbbells for the workouts for Body BEAST but if you have to use resistance bands I believe you can still succeed and obtain really good results.
EZ-Curl Bar EZCurlBbellwWgt
The EZ-Curl Bar allows you to vary your handgrips for different BEAST exercises. This body beast equipment is recommended for shoulder, back, bicep, tricep and leg exercises. The EZ bar will allow you to do more complex movements and use more uscle fiber than just dumbbells alone. The good news is that although Beachbody recommends this equipment for the workout program you can always do modified exercises that can be done with out this Body BEAST equipment.
Weight Bench or Stability Ball PremiumBench StabilityBall
In the Body BEAST program many of your exercises will be done on a weight bench. You can modify these exercises with a stability ball (yoga ball) if necessary. Whatever you decide to use, you’ll need to make sure you have a strong base of support for the weightlifting exercises. Beachbody offers different stability balls to accommodate almost any body type. For some, a stability ball is actually better than a flat / incline bench when doing Body BEAST because this piece of equipment will also train your core and stabilizer muscles.
Chin-ups are part of the back exercises in the Beachbody program. To complete these exercises you’ll need the essential Body BEAST equipment – a chin-up bar. Pull-ups and chin-ups are essential to the BEAST program. You can substitute a chin-up bar with a resistance band with the door attachment , but after a certain amount of time you’ll probably want to increase your resistance to pulling your own body weight.
You’re not required to have this piece of equipment but it is helpful for extra cushioning on hard surfaces as well as can support your joints and spine. When you’re doing the BEAST cardio exercises or dropping your weights on the ground you don’t want to ruin your floor or disturb your neighbors.
So there you have it. All of the Body BEAST equipment that you need in order to succeed has been described on this page. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want, you can always get more equipment but to be honest, I’ve been members of some really nice gyms that have had more equipment than you’ll ever need. Sagi Kalev and the Beachbody team really breaks down the BEAST program into its easiest form. The greatest part of the program is the Dynamic Set Training which allows you to train intensely with minimal rest causing hypertrophy (muscle growth).
